WNV Vaccine Information

Equine vaccines are available through veterinarians. It is important to maintain accurate vaccination records for your horses, especially if you plan to ship internationally, since current testing methods for WNV do not distinguish between vaccinated and naturally infected horses. In addition, some countries require proof of WNV vaccination. Contact your veterinarian for more information about the equine WNV vaccines. Vaccination should not replace efforts to reduce the mosquito population around the home and stable areas, but may be used in conjunction with mosquito habitat elimination efforts.
